Several years ago, my father's first cousin, Susie Vanderzanden and her husband Ray traveled to Italy where her grandmother, Carolina, and my dad's grandmother, Rosaria, (the Reda sisters) were from, Mendicino, Italy. Mendicino is in the province of Cosenza and the region of Calabria, the boot of Italy. They made a slide show DVD about the trip and some family history
Ever since I saw that DVD, I've wanted to travel there some day. So now it has worked out for my sister Patty and I to go in May.
This region is actually called the Riviera of Italy and is located in driving distance of two different portions of the Mediterranean: the Tyrrhennian Sea and the Ionian Sea.
Sound beautiful. I didn't realize that it was by the Sea.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! The sea is a must!
