The day has arrived

It's 3:17 a.m. on Saturday.  I'm packed, dressed, eating some breakfast.  Patty and I are each flying to Dallas Fort Worth.  We received a travel alert from American Airlines on Thursday saying thunderstorms were predicted for DFW on Saturday.  But Patty and I decided to forge ahead, not change our flights as was offered.

It brought to mind Angie's (my daughter) wedding on the beach at Cape May almost ten years ago.  Rain was threatening and the wedding planner wanted Angie to move her wedding to the backup indoor venue.  I was no help to her in making the decision, vacillating back and forth.  But dear Matthew, her very soon to be husband, told the wedding planner, something like, "My wife wants to be married on the beach and so shall she be.  No backup plan!"  And if we weren't already in love with him, this sealed the deal.  The wedding went on, on the beach!

Matthew told me later that in his role as an umpire for NCAA women's softball, the rule is that you don't cancel the game until the rain starts falling!

Somehow that all ties in.  We're forging ahead, staying positive and of course, with all our friends and family praying for us God will see us safely to Italy.

I decided to wear a dress with comfortable leggins and compression socks and New Balance walking shoes.  It's an eclectic look, but I can get away with it.  I'm almost 70! And have never been a true fashionista.
